DIY marinades, jams and sauces are a great alternative to store-bought versions, as you can control the ingredients! Another plus to homemade jam, marinades and sauces is that you can create any flavor profile you desire – which can help with those pesky cravings.
Homemade Tomato Jam Recipe
- 6 plum tomatoes
- 60 green grapes (20 in serving)
- 1/2 cup Splenda® measures like sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon Morton® Lite Salt
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
Blanche tomatoes in boiling water for 30 seconds. Peel, seed and chop. Slice grapes in half lengthwise.
Mix tomatoes, grapes and remaining ingredients in a small saucepan. Let stand at room temperature for 10 minutes. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, occasionally stirring. Boil, stirring frequently, for 30 minutes and until thickened and reduced to less than 2 cups. Let cool. Store for one week in an airtight container, or can be canned and processed for pantry stability and gift giving.
Makes 12 servings
